CoMPASS Project
Co-designing Myanmar's Pathways for Agroecological Transition towards Sustainable Food Systems (CoMPASS)
CORIGAP-CoMPASS aims to design pathways for agroecological transition towards sustainable food systems in Myanmar by assessing the production systems’ interventions, institutional policies, and incentives that can be promoted to create synergies between livelihoods and the environment. This will be done using the lens of agroecological principles espoused by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in its Global Programme Food Security's (GPFS) Strategy 2017-2020, as amended.
As a component project of CORIGAP, this three-year initiative is also funded by the SDC. The CORIGAP-CoMPASS is implemented by IRRI in partnership with Myanmar’s Department of Agriculture (DoA), Department of Agricultural Research (DAR), and Environmental Conservation Department (ECD). The project runs from October 2019 to September 2022.
